Holy crap CM Punk shoot on WWE Raw?

YOU MUST WATCH THIS. WOOOOWWWWWWW. HOLY JESUS.




Following this shoot, WWE cut CM Punk's Microphone, Blacked the show out, Cut the feed and went to commercial.

Moments later after this took place, CM Punk was confronted backstage and immediately suspended and fired from the company on the spot, missing the end of his contract and will probably never been seen or heard from again on WWE Programming again.

The minute he started talking about ROH, Brock Lesnar, Vince McMahon's eventual death, his "idiot son in law" and John Lauernites, it was official. CM Punk just shot the WWE to fucking hell and back on live tv.

There's no doubt it was a brilliant money promo on CM Punk's part. Excellent stuff, and well played to the WWE for allowing it happen and ending RAW like that.

CM Punk isn't fired or suspended. They said he was, and had a number one contender match which Alberto won.

However, John Cena came out and did a semi-shoot promo himself saying it was wrong CM Punk was fired for speaking his mind. He doesn't agree with all he said, but he had a right to say it. He said it was clear the fans wanted to see CM Punk wrestle, whether or not he was leaving, and Cena wanted to face him. He demanded McMahon come out and tell these people why he wasn't doing what they wanted, and why people can't speak their mind.

McMahon came out and basically said he won't have his employees going off message like that. He said he can't risk Punk leaving with the title either, so he fired him. He also said he doesn't give a toss what the fans want.

Cena said that if that was the case, Vince could keep the WWE title, and handed it back to him and walked out.

Vince followed Cena up the ramp and said that OK, if that's the way he wanted it, CM Punk can finish out his contract, and get his title shot. But if Punk wins and leaves with the belt, Cena is fired.

Now, in doing that, I think WWE have ruined an excellent angle. Cena isn't about to be fired (not that it makes any difference when he is) so we can expect him to win. Any dream of Punk winmning the title and it needing Austin to offer a Mania match to bring him back appear to have gone out the window.

Shame.

I could very well be wrong with what i'm about to say, but...

I'm not taking what any site says or any rumors about what's "going" to happen as true until I see it for myself.

I have a very very low opinion of the kinds of "insider websites" that report these kinds of things, and I personally recall many times in which they ended up being completely wrong about things, because someone with a prediction wanted to make it sound like they had "insider news" or a source of some kind, so they post it as a "Wrestling News Story" on an "insider" dirt sheet.

Until the actual Raw for next week hits the airwaves, and if it goes how they claim it does, then i'll believe it.

But until then, I don't.

Yes, it could very well be true, and this really could be it. Or it could be the made-up story of someone claiming to have seen said tapings, that actually did not and wants a story they put on a website to spread.

I'm not sure there's any real way for a story of "what the next taping was" to be 100% corroborated unless multiple people that were at the same tapings say the same thing at the same time as well and that they were there, independant of the other.

But with the way information travels on the internet, anyone who reads this could just as well now SAY they were there.

The things Punk references on this Raw just makes me more skeptical, of next week actually happening like this, than of this week being a work.

Of course, I fully admit this could very well BE a true story for next week, but as for now I think it has a 50/50 chance of being an utter load, as well.

There are two things that make me think it was all a work.

With how scripted the wwe is, you would think that they would have cut him off as soon as he started going off script. Instead he just sat there and filled the time till the end of the show and then cut him off.

and second, Punk still kept talking about how he was going to beat Cena for the title. Even after he said all that stuff. You would think he would have dropped the act completely since he knew he would be legitimately fired.

Although this could be legit and Punk could be gone forever but why would he go and burn his bridge with the wwe like that? So he can go be the best in the world in TNA (just realized he never mentioned TNA. You would think that would be a big one to throw out if he was really pissed) or main event ROH's iPPV's? Just doesn't seem like a smart move to me. Unless it's a pride thing or he wants to do other things.

Also...I've been hearing about Cena having some nagging injuries. To go with Myrons thing and if Punk wins Cena is fired, what if this is just a way to have Cena get some rest and heal up before Mania next year. So he's fresh to face The Rock. Punk holds the belt maybe drops it to Del Rio, then Cena comes back and wins the belt at the Rumble or something. Although, when have they ever taped raw?

I'm not sure whats going on but it has me intrigued to check out next weeks Raw to find out so it definitely did something right!

...and also.....what was up with the stone cold shirt?

As for the reasons why Punk would have burned bridges, it's been known that he wanted out of his contract for a while, and it was running out very soon, and he'd already mentioned he's not renewing.

So with those things known off-tv going into it, it's why the whole promo seemed to make sense.

Also, he's been in a big war over Twitter with Austin as of late.

Presumably the shirt means two things. Signaling it as a ironic flag to throw in Austin's face because of the comments the two have made to each other, as well as the implications ofis symbolizing Punk saying that he embodies the rebellious persona truer and better than Austin ever did. Some of the things that I believe he's been saying as well.

Myron hasn't commented in this string?

Steve's entirely right that if he was really off-message the WWE would have stopped the promo a lot earlier. There is no way in hell that this wasn't a work.

Not mentioning TNA may indeed be another indication, but it could equally be related to how legitimately bitter Punk is over his time with the company, and his expressed desire never to return.

As I say, its all a work, and I strongly suspect Punk has actually re-signed with the company, but may be taking a couple of months off to rest up. Whether the WWE have the balls to have him as WWE champion holding the belt during that time and doing a series of "I'm not coming back" angles, I'm not sure. I simply can't see the WWE giving him the sort of build he's had recently if he really was leaving. The WWE might also have Punk taking the belt as an excuse to introduce a new title belt - something which has been rumoured for ages. That could lead to a "who is the real champ" match down the line.

The dream scenario sees Punk win, and it taking a match with Austin to pull him back. That's what I think the shirt is about - teasing that possible match.

P.S: I changed the thread title because when I look at the title I originally had for this thread, it kinda made it look a little stupid, with it being in all caps and over-dramatic.

Hey, it may very well be. I'll even bet you may be right. And i'm also likely wrong in thinking it is probably not a work, as well.

I'm just saying that I don't fully believe the websites themselves at face value until I see it. Even if it probably was worked. And I probably will see it.

I would have been that way even if for example, something else, if they had said that Chavo was going to be released two days before he actually was.

Not that I would have been surprised by it, or that I wouldn't believe Chavo woudl be let go (becuase seriously they weren't doing anything with him), I just don't trust those sites to report any real "insider news".

But when you mention looking at the promo itself, then yeah, they probably will bring Punk back when you put it that way. I'm not convinced it'll go exactly the way they said they saw on a taping (it probably might though), but I also just as easily prepared to see CM Punk's title match still happen after all.

If nothing else, it was a beautiful moment.

Real, fake, shoot or worked... My god it was good.

I havn't seen anything that entertaining or awesome on WWE since possibly 2003.

BTW, something just occurred to me. McMahon's words were that if CM Punk LEFT CHICAGO with the belt, Cena was fired. NOT if Punk WON the belt.

So given the title of the PPV, that offers a really rather convenient way out.

Punk wins, celebrates, rubs it in. Glass shatters, Austin stunners him, MITB winner cashes in and wins the title. Cena isn't fired.

Punk returns at the Rumble challenges Austin for Mania.

I'd prefer something else, but it could happen.

I haven't commented before as I had computer problems before. As I said on the other string it sounds like a work. A very good one and a really good angle. But it just sounds too well scripted not to be. Plus, having seen it since, I agree with DS that it wouldn't have been exactly the same length as it normally is. The WWE would have cut him off long before any of this. They are building heat on him and it's working. People genuinely think the title will leave. Vince has been bitten their before. He wouldn't let it happen twice. I think this is going to see him fight some of the faces of WWE: Trips. Austin. Maybe even The Rock. There is certainly fuel for a three way with Cena involved.
