Y'know... I loved WCW. I thought it was great. We all know that WCW near it's final years was..... well.... held room for improvement... but then........ this.
When I look back on things like this, and when I really start to put some real thought into the shape that WCW was in, it's recalling segments like this, that remind me that the final WCW Nitro was not so much a sad ending of an epic era, but more like the mercy killing of a once beloved, now rabid family pet, at the point in history which it occurred.
Sure, it's nice to remember WCW Nitro going out on the final, heartfelt match between Sting and Ric Flair.
........but then, you start to remember that this aired right around the same time as that final Nitro, and a single, horrible ray of reality starts to cut through the warm fog of nostalgia to remind you just how fucking horrible WCW had gotten when it died.
Just try for a moment to put aside just how annoying, disrespectful, boring and sophomoric it is to have an entire angle devoted to the childish extension to a feud that apparently culminated in having someone's mouth shoved into the butt of a donkey, topped off with an extremely unfunny prop comedy routine that goes on for ages....
....and try to figure out how in the hell we can skew away from that angle into something completely nonsensical, involving a Steiner and Booker T run-in for little coherent reason, thereby completely derailing a match that looks like an afterthought, anyway. It's exactly the stream-of-consciousness crap that makes TNA completely unwatchable today.
Don't get me wrong. I mourn the loss of WCW for it's good times, but let's be honest.... When Nitro died, WCW's good times were barely the fumes running from the vapor trail of a memory by then.

Towards the end, the last year or so I remember that Magnificent 7 group, it was a shit storyline. I try to remember WCW for the better times, all easily re-livable thanks to Youtube!
