Ok, the Stage thing isn't that bad I suppose.

Now it's being tweeted that Paint Tool can be used on everything else.

Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if the "HD Stages" don't have any Raw or Smackdown graphics on them and that they appear blank and Brand-less.

I'd rather the stages be blank and generic, (if they are) than say Raw or Smackdown on them. Hopefully.


Beautiful roster, though. Really, really good.

That makes sense in terms of them being in the game but not revealed because they aren't with the company any longer - then again, neither is Koslov, but he was revealed.

Nothing at all to complain about with that roster. I see no obvious omissions where I'm sitting here going "Oh wow, sucks that X isn't in the game" In fact, there are a few that are pleasant surprises - like Ryan, Riley, Cara, and Husky for instance.

As far as the Legends go, I'm delighted to see both the Road Warriors and Demolition in. Is it too much I'm hoping for Shawn Michaels in Rockers gear to go along with a Marty Jannetty now? The other legends make sense, and going by the fact that they've included Nash after just one appearance, it does make me wonder if DDP just might make it in this year.

I'm pretty sure we'll see Savage in the game as a later reveal.

As far as Create an Arena goes, I'm not that bothered that you can't create a stage, and I can understand why perhaps you can't with the scaling and mapping of the arena. Hopefully you can choose from some presets. But being able to customise the ring and ringside areas (hopefully with logos) still frees up some fantastic possibilities. So I'm fairly happy.

I actually pre-ordered the game tonight, before the announcement. I'm perfectly happy with that decision after this.

Hopefully there will be some stages in there that are generic enough so that they'll work. I'd be surprised if there weren't - or some preset "blank" stages.

The only omissions to the roster I can POSSIBLY think of... and i'd have to really stretch on these... (Some of these might even be DLC)

...are the Uso's, JTG, Jinder Mihal, The Great Khali, Brodius Clay, and Tyler Reks.

That's lliterally all I can think of that are missing from the current roster. And if those are the only omissions, it's a good roster indeed.

Incidentally, have they said what version of the game the shots on the website are taken from? Obviously they aren't in HD so I'm reserving judgement somewhat, but I have to say I am thinking that this year's models don't seem to have quite as much polish and detail as previous games.

Now if that's as a result of new modelling techniques to give more fluid and realistic animation and reduced clipping, and as a result the whole thing flows and plays better, and more realistically, I won't mind. They aren't bad looking by any means - and as I say, they aren't the final game running in HD and a top quality video feed so we shall see - but I do at this stage think its noticeable.

I didn't even notice Khali wasn't in!

I wouldn't mind the Usos being in. Couldn't give a toss for the rest.

I'm glad Regal made it in. Regal's awesome, and one of the nicest guys you will ever meet in your life. I want that guy to continue making money for as long as he wants to.

But in all seriousness.... If I can be serious for a minute....

I have read Cory say that they have updated the build at least once more before they put together this Summerslam demo, so it's possible that some of the guys like Wade Barret that didn't have any mini-trons, and some of the guys missing some entrance attires may yet have those.

Personally, the only thing I notice lacking are some character faces are way too smooth and contain no wrinkles or skin textures. For example, Wade Barret, Alex Riley, and Alberto's faces look as smooth as a baby's butt. And they shouldn't. Especially Alberto and Barrett.

That may change. I think it will. But as you mention, even if it doesn't, i'm still fine with it.

I dunno if DDP will make it in as a Legend. If this was an alternate reality where WWF was bought by WCW and this was a WCW game then yeah I'm sure he'd be in it, but after Page's less than notable run in WWF I can't imagine him being in as a Legend. Kevin Nash as well. He's not so bad, but he's no legend!

By all means add him in as a "current roster" character, but Legend is blowing Nash's trumpet a bit to hard, possibly? Or maybe he's just not old enough yet!

I think there's more than enough there, TBH.

Some might say that his WCW head booking experiences are decidedly less than legendary.

But all the same, they happened.

Honestly though, I think that he deserves it, due to his nostalgic status as Diesel at the very least.

Even if he wasn't in the WWE right now, just having Big Daddy Cool would have been right at home on the Legends roster along with guys like Vader, if that pesky TNA contract of Nash's hadn't kept it from being a reality for the last 2-3 years.

Yeeeeah, ok. When you make a list like that I suppose I must concede.

That said, I've never been a massive fan of Nash's wrestling, or booking. On the microphone he was alright.

I didn't like him booking himself to the extent he did. People who won't give other people a chance like that really piss me off. And that Clique... Bunch of knobheads!

In complete fairness, Nash did provide entertainment in WCW most of the time, but Legend... I dunno.

Oh I don't think he was any good as a booker, and he was certainly limited as a worker (he'd be the first to admit it), but purely from where he was positioned in the companies, and the things that revolved around him, he's more eligible than many guys who have gone in.

True true, Dave. I can't argue with that.



Who do we all think is the least deserving Legend? (from any SD! game) I'll say Shane McMahon

Fred Durst. I will say that a million times.

Fred Durst was the WORST playable character in a wrestling game ever. And in case you didn't know about that, yes. That was really a thing that actually happened.

Apparently Fred Durst from Limp Suckit, demanded that he be unlockable and playable in one of the Smackdown games as compensation for letting them use his terrible music for Undertaker's entrance.

Massive Ego: For when your giant royalty checks just aren't enough.





By the way, I have to disagree with Shane McMahon. Call me crazy, but i've always kind of liked him. For a non-wrestler, he probably had the best moves and most memorable spots in WWE history. For a NON-WRESTLER that is.

For a Non-wrestler to be as over athletically as he was during his short run, was kind of amazing.

That having been said, I'm glad that his run, was, in fact, short. Seeing as he, in all honesty is not a wrestler and never really was, despite being a part of the active competing roster for a short time.

Say what you will about him compared to real wrestlers, but he was better than literally everyone else of his category. Among notable non-wrestlers that competed in a ring, like Carl Malone, Dennis Rodman, David Arquette, Snooki, Andy Kaufman, Jay Leno, Stephanie McMahon, and even Vince McMahon, he was the absoute best among that list.


Although as far as real wrestlers that were Legends in a video game and playable that didn't deserve to be in as much as they were, I'm not sure of any i'd really put. But if I had to choose one, I would probably say, just off the top of my head, maybe......... Doink The Clown?

But no, even then, honestly I think the Doink does have a certain legacy that kind of at least sorta wasn't that terrible to be in a game.


Now, if someone like the Gobbledegooker, Mantaur, The Goon, Bastion Booger, or Shockmaster ever made it into a future game, I would say them. Even though that would honestly, be hilarious still.

Oh shit yeah I forgot about Fred Durst. Definitely Fred Durst for me too!



I also forgot all the wrestlers in LOWM... And I'd probably agree with Doink the Clown too. Added in because his character was so memorable more than skills and achievements, possibly?

I believe Andy Kaufman was in one non-WWE game.

There is never any time in my life that I would ever want to have any hand in recreating Kaufman's "legendary wrestling career" in a video game.

And this is coming from someone that loved Man On The Moon, and Kaufman's life story.

But a video game is never somewhere that I want to experience this.

Couldn't remember all the people who have been listed as legends but I doubt any were worse that Durst. Having said that, I'd laugh like a drain if they put David Arquette in a game as a legend.

I guess Andy K did have at least a sort of link to a wrestling career. Durst, on the other hand, is one of my least favourite people from one of my least favourite bands...so I'd pick him every time!
