...that seems to be doing better out of the ring than he did in it: Robert Maillet. Or Kurgan from Jakyl's stable/The Oddities. First he was the Uber-Immortal in 300. Then he was one of the toughs in the first Sherlock Holmes movie. Next he plays The Minotuar in The Immortals, coming this November. OK, it's small parts but everything he's done is better than Hogan or Cena!

Yeah he's done pretty well for himself on the quiet, and good luck to him.

TBH though, I have to say that 12 Rounds wasn't a bad movie as bubblegum action flicks go.

And Hogan was in Rocky III, which is a belter of a movie.

But the top performance is still Andre in The Princess Bride. Fantastic movie.

Don't forget Roddy Piper.

"They Live" is one of my favorite films, and Piper was absolutely outstanding in it.

"I'm here to kick ass and chew bubblegum. And I'm all out of gum." Very Happy

I'd give Hogan Rocky 3, only because it has the almighty T in it! Can't argue on the best film/performance involving a wrestler being Princess Bride. I love that film and Andre is perfect for the role.

I also have a lot of time for They Live. Piper is good in the role and it's a good sci-fi film.

I think The Rock is slightly underated as an actor. I know that I probably won't find much support for the fact I like The Scorpian King but I really liked his tick laden work in Southland Tales. Plus he's usually good value in anything he does.

Still, all of this may count for naught as I've Sky +'d Almighty Thor. It's the film that was posted on here a bit back where Thor was packing an uzi and Odin was one Kevin Nash...

The Rock, I think is a great actor.

He has a veritable wealth of charisma that he can bring to even his worst roles, and is a surprisingly good actor, capable of very convincing performances.

I think the only reason Rock's career as an actor has major problems, is absolutely no fault of his own. He routinly lands the worst goddamn roles of any "major" actor in Hollywood.

Again, no fault of his own, but when he stars in some of the worst films and most miscast roles, I truly believe that he deserves better than bottom barrel nauseatingly godawful shit like Doom, The Tooth Fairy, The Game Plan, and so on.

Sadly, I think it's as if The Rock's film career is like Arnold Schwarzenegger's dark period of Jingle All The Way, Junior, End Of Days, and Kindergarden Cop except that Rock has never had the brilliant roles prior that Arnold has had like Terminator, which Rock has always really deserved to have.

Because he's good. Really good. But I have yet to see him in a SINGLE decent film aside from The Rundown and Get Smart. (And he was only a supporting actor in that.)_

Roddy Piper in They Live is definitely worth a shout.

I also think the Rock is a decent actor, and I think he's been good in a number of movies. Gridiron Gang was good, Walking Tall was also decent, and he was by far the best thing in Be Cool.

TBH, although he's done a few kids films recently, I don't think there's any justification for saying his acting career "has major problems" though. He's not had to scrape around for low budget kids stuff like Hogan did. He was offered a very very lucrative contract by Disney to a series of movies. He's been well compensated, had a steady stream of movies out which have all made money, and he's shown that he's willing to do things beyond just being an acting star. At the same time he's still done action parts like Fast and Furious, Faster, and the GI Joe sequel he's in. Plus he's done more off the wall stuff like Southland Tales as well.

As far as his acting career goes, I think he's in pretty good shape.

I'd agree on The Rock. A quick look at his wiki page shows he's been in steady work since the beginning. Sure, there's some clangers on there but there's some good movies on there too. The Kiddie friendly Journey 2: Mysterious Island. The interesing Arabian Knights (where he's cast as Sinbad...who's 7th voyage I'm actually watching right now...). Plus a bipoic of Charley Pride, which should give The Rock a chance to flex his acting muscles).

If he keeps doing a mixture of stuff like that then The Rock is going to have a decent acting career. Like DS, I'd say Walking Tall is a good film, as I would with Southland Tales. Plus there's a few on there that I haven't seen so can't say if they are good or bad.

I've only seen a few films with The Rock in. He doesn't strike me as a brilliant actor but better than some. I liked him in Be Cool.

I'd say Stacey Keibler is doing fairly well at the moment. Or maybe it's George Clooney that's doing well as he is the one who is balls deep in her at the moment, the lucky fucker.
