Things to do on a snow day...

...c'mon, let's have some ideas! :D

Spend 5 entire days huddled up under blankets at my parents house while they argue and bicker at each other after their car breaks down, and a major power outage takes off all electricity, heat and phones in the area and snow storms leave 6 feet of snow in the street.

Because that was how I clearly recall spending a week of misery, about 2 1/2 years ago, this one time. :p

As tempting as that sounds - and I was almost going to book it in - I was looking for something more from the fun section of the supermarket...

Once I got into a snowball fight when I was a kid?

Someone decked me in the face with a slush ball, and I ran up, pulled his jacket over his head and decked him in the stomach, and got in loads of trouble?



Well, it was fun up to that point.

lol, haven't had a snow ball fight in years. Apparently we're going to get 6 more inches of snow this afternoon...that might mean finding things to do tomorrow!

Sitting down with your live satellite video feed of starving children from third world countries collapsing with a bag of popcorn and a soda, and laughing about it riotously.

I'll be killing things at some point, although I'm more a sword man. DVDs will be the order of the day and I'm sure hot choc will come into it. I've also been doing some cyber shopping, buying a new cybery fleece and eyeing up some new clothes.

I've done my rp for today...that was ther first thing!

Funny you should mention a blunderbuss cause I was only saying I wanted one the other week. We'd gone to see Macbeth and they had some pics from a previous production. I pointed to one with a blunderbuss and said I'd seen one in somebodies FB profile pic like that and I'd wanted one then. Low and behold the same guy was in the production!

I've seen a nice steampunked one. I'd also like a pistol to with my particle magnum (Ronan's gun from Stargate Atlantis). But swords are my real passion. Either Legolos' twin long knives, Nuada's spear and sword set or Excalibur. I've seen a few but they tend to be in the US and I'm not sure what the importing law says about such things...

Being in an area with nice scenery I've been known to take the camera out and take some snaps, just for some time to kill. Plus it means I get out the house.

You don't need to import them. There's a shop in York which does loads of replica weapons. Its on Stonegate.

I must have shown you the replica Claymore I have, surely?

But incidentally the import laws are fine as long as its classed as a prop replica, and has a dull edge.

Going back to making fresh bread. Wouldn't it be annoying if you were snowed in and thought "fuck it, I'll make some bread". So you get all the ingredients ready and are actually getting quite excited about the prospect of some nice hot bread, then you realise you're missing one ingredient so can't make it because you can't get to a shop!

DS, I know the shop. I go in every time I'm there! Up until now they've either had the blades when I've not had the money or I've had the money and they haven't had the blades! When I do get round to buying one I'll be giving that shop the first go. I was just looking at my options if they didn't.

I already have a dagger with arcane symbols on it.

James- I've had that with recipes before now. That's when experimental cookery comes in.

Myron- there are other shops around, and at the back of Empire every month theres at least one company that specialises in movie weapons. Actually, Forbidden Planet carries stuff as well.

Cheers, DS. I've seen the Forbidden Planet stuff. Don't get Empire or Total Film every month any more but I do get SFX, which also has some nice stuff in. I'll get one at some point soon :) After all, I have to complete the alien elf steampunk cyber cowboy bounty hunter look at some point...;)

By the time you have done that you'll be some laden down with stuff, you won't be able to walk.

Though having said that, I did see a very cool looking Steampunk leather and brass iPad case the other day.

Just been looking at steampunk rings. There's some very nice stuff out there at the moment.

As for carrying it...silly man...that's what your cybernetic horse is for...
