"Debra, Steve Blackman, The Headbangers, Rikishi, Marc Mero, Jacqueline, Too Cool, and Val Venis were originally set to be part of the "Attitude Era Legends" roster of the game, but were reportedly nixed by WWE and THQ for an undisclosed reason. Specifically, Too Cool, Rikishi, and Blackman actually had in-game models created for them before they were deleted and dropped from the game."

I'm surprised that Rikishi, Val Venis and Too Cool are being dropped. I could see people actually wanting to play as them. Not so much Blackman or Jacqueline, as they were as bland as a very bland thing and no great loss to the game...

Have to completly disagree on Blackman and a bit less so on Jackie.

I would have REALLY wanted to play as Blackman. He had a great moveset, as well as a LOT of uniqiue moves that would have been very welcome in the game and I would have loved to play as him.

Yes, he had the charisma of cardboard, but they were always able to play him to his strengths. A rather stiff guy that was always very well utilized as the guy to put up against someone that they would have to get through, to get somewhere else. Blackman's martial arts in-ring skills would have been very unique and very fun in the game.

Steve Blackman is the "Gonna legitimately beat someone up" guy, who actually came off as a badass that was good enough to not necessarily need a colorful persona. Some of the hardcore matches he's been integral in and contributed classic moments to, alone, would have sold me on him being in the game.

Jackie, well, if they were going to include any list of women's wrestlers to depict the era at the time, leaving her out would be just as bad as leaving out Ivory, Molly, Lita, or Sable. (Some of which, I even worry also might not make the game.)

Regarding Too Cool, I'm sure the reason they were removed was all because of Grandmasta Sexay, a.k.a Brian Christopher Lawler.

I'm even surprised they associated with him enough to put him in that awful storyline with Lawler and Cole a while back, given his relationship with the WWE and his habit of bridge burning.

Either way, I'm sure that if there's any apparent reason that the whole group is missing, it probably stems from him.

Val Venis, though, is an absolutely inexcusable loss. He made a LARGE part of the Attitude Era. For better or worse, when you think of the tone of the attitude Era, having a thinly veiled Porn Star gimmick fits like a glove.

Then again, maybe it's the porn connection that got him removed. Stupid PG era.

Although, the fact that WWE is currently fighting against and issuing a defamation lawsuit right now against a journalist for claiming several weeks ago that WWE is "borderline pornogoraphy", probably had a lot to do with Val's removal.

Vince would rather die than let anyone who criticizes him, have any sort of ammunition to use against him.

It's probably why i'm almost 100% sure that Chyna also, will not be included as a part of original D-X.

I don't think it's too hard to have Val Venis in there. If you are going to have Austin, who flipped people off here there and everywhere, then there's no arguement for not using him. It's not like they are going to have him in a actual porn film on there, just a few gyrations on the entrance! Although if they are running scared I can see it.

For me there's a thousand different wrestlers who I would play before Blackman. Having some out of the ring tough doesn't do enough to get him in. And while he's from the Attitude I don't hear the words Attitude and suddenly think of him.

On Jackie I don't think she's in the same league as Lita, Sable or Molly. Think of the storylines they were in. Think of Jackie's. How many of the latter stand out against Lita and the Hardyz? Or Molly's superhero turn? Even Sable and THAT catsuit! I actually think it was more numbers why she was originally in and that's why I don't mourn the loss.

Chyna, on the other hand, would be a big loss. Think Attitude female and it has to be her. Other Divas have modelled for Playboy. X-Pac was her partner in crime of the tape. So if they don't have her in for that it would be double standards.

All this is speculation at the moment. Let's see when the final game comes out who has been included and who has been dropped. I'd like to see the likes of Rikishi and Too Cool in, but by the same token if they aren't, I don't mind. Same goes for Blackman, Venis, and most of the others we could name. Do agree Blackman's move set would be nice though.

Very true. There's nothing the internet likes more than a good speculate! You should see the stuff they are coming up with for Dragon Age 3! Everybody, their granma and the postman has an opinion on who and what the next protaganist should be!

At least they've confirmed the Skyrim DLC...*happy Myron dreams of super-vampre elves...*

I'd play as Too Cool! They were... Well, too cool.

However, let's think of this...

If this is anything like the Hurricane Helms debacle, if Too Cool or Steve Blackman were featured in the story mode, they might be in the game as opponents or character models.

And if that's true, their moves should be in, and if you're one of those people capable of hacking the game, they could be unlocked unofficially.

Of course, you need to know how to download and apply altered Xbox 360 game saves via a UBS device. It's not easy, but I'd managed to do this with a few of the older games using one of those SvR editors.

Hurricane was unlockable via a hacked game save that year. Other times, people have found other data made inaccessible for past SvR games. (This is what led to that huge controversy in SvR09, when 300+ wrestling moves were removed from the game. Although most of them were broken versions of moves from the PS2 era games, that were incomplete and not fully animated, or just plain didn't work. But still.)

Their moves with be in, as some people want to create them. But that doen't mean I will think on this to hard...these things are only ever controversies from the internet masses who really should find something better to do (oh, how I've seen them commenting on Skyrim, Dragon Age, Kingdoms of Amalur, etc...) Wink

I think I'll concentrate on being happy playing as the people who ARE in the game, rather than trying to break the game for a couple of people who aren't.

I agree, I think they were grossly unfair about the 300+ move removal debacle.

They trolled, and cried and pissed and whined, and flamed THQ to hell and back on forums over that, before ANY of them even stopped to CONSIDER that they were not useable because the animations were either unfinished, non-existant, or data left overs from PS2 games that don't use the same animation engine as the games now do.

I'm just saying that it happened, and people have a way of finding unused data murking about in the game code somewhere.

And some people have even found ways to activate some of it.

But of course most people won't be able to do anything with it.

I'm just saying it will be interesting from a technical standpoint if that stuff is found, somehow.

I'm fine with it all, though.

My only issue is "does the server work?"

It's the only thing I care about.

Well.... that and "Can you finally create the entrance stage for CAA?"

The only two pertinent questions on my mind that will really impact my enjoyment of the game.
